Albator

Smart. Safe. Contactless.
A 3.5-year visionary project pioneering a contactless solution for debris removal

ALBATOR in a few words

Space debris is becoming one of the biggest threats to the future of satellite operations and sustainable space traffic. The ALBATOR project is taking on this challenge with cutting-edge technology: a revolutionary electro-plasmic ion source designed to safely and efficiently remove debris from orbit.
By generating and precisely aiming an ion beam at debris, ALBATOR can gently adjust its path—accelerating re-entry and reducing long-term risks in orbit.
This contactless solution avoids physical interaction, preventing the risk of creating new debris while removing existing threats.
This ambitious project includes performance studies, ion source design and testing, advanced modelling, and a complete mission plan. ALBATOR is not just a concept—it’s the future of clean and secure space.
