🌌 Space debris threatens the future of space operations and tackling this growing challenge demands bold and collaborative innovation.
With that in mind, the European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA) has chosen to fund a 3.5-year initiative that brings together an expert consortium of academic and industrial partners to develop a contactless debris removal method.
The ALBATOR project will explore the use of a focused plasma beam to safely push debris out of orbit and detumble non-operational satellites.
OSMOS X is beyond proud to coordinate this ambitious project alongside our incredible partners:
🎓 Universidad Carlos III de Madrid / Plasmas and Space Propulsion Team (EP2)
🎓 Justus-Liebig-Universität Giessen
🎓 Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel
🛰️ NorthStar Earth & Space
We’re honored to work with such like-minded researchers and innovators, united by a common goal: securing the future of space exploration and ensuring orbital sustainability.
A heartfelt thank you to EIC Pathfinder for believing in our vision and supporting this mission. Let’s push the boundaries and pave the way for the future of in-orbit cleanup operations!
